Two huge cranes were used to hoist
the lighting crew into position for placing the lights on the spire of the
148-foot bell tower and along the vertical sides of the tower. Founded in 1898, Friends University is the largest, fastest-growing independent university in Kansas, providing a Christian environment for approximately 2,700 students. The tiny Wichita campus of a century ago has gradually grown to include more than 17 buildings and facilities, incorporating some of the newest technology available for students. LightTheNight is a residential and commercial lighting firm located in Wichita, Kansas specializing in landscape lighting, special interest lighting, holiday lighting and holiday displays. Other displays created by LightTheNight include the tree in the pond at Polo Office Park on North Rock Road, the shooting star at Fidelity Bank, the five story tall animated Santa Claus on the Coleman Co. building, and numerous other businesses and homes all across the city.
